It is with deep regret that we announce the death of our Captain Geoff Tucker who passed away yesterday after a brave battle with cancer. The Committee and staff offer sincere condolences to his wife Denise, a past Captain of Connemara Golf Links, to his son Geoffrey and daughter Carmen and their respective families. He will be sadly missed by all.
According to Geoff's wishes, his Captain Prize will go ahead as planned on the 10th and 11th of July.
As a mark of respect the Course and Clubhouse will be closed on the day of the funeral, Tuesday 6th July.

You are probably aware that we have appointed a General Manager, Siobhan Roche. We are truly blessed to have such a highly qualified person to take this role.
Siobhan will be starting next Saturday so lets give her a great Connemara welcome when you meet her.
Happy golf to all of you.

From that date, all golf clubs can reopen for play within the limitations set by the Government. Coaching activities for underage players can also resume from that date.

When you've got a starkly beautiful links golf course, designed at a charitable price by a golfing 'saint', at the behest of a group of locals led by an enthusiastic curate, the term God's own country is not in the least out of place.
