It is with deep regret that we announce the death of our Captain Geoff Tucker who passed away yesterday after a brave battle with cancer. The Committee and staff offer sincere condolences to his wife Denise, a past Captain of Connemara Golf Links, to his son Geoffrey and daughter Carmen and their respective families. He will be sadly missed by all.
According to Geoff's wishes, his Captain Prize will go ahead as planned on the 10th and 11th of July. As a mark of respect the Course and Clubhouse will be closed on the day of the funeral, Tuesday 6th July. Ar Dheis De go raibh a anam. It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all back to golf. Even the weather shone brightly down on us. How we've missed it all. You are probably aware that we have appointed a General Manager, Siobhan Roche. We are truly blessed to have such a highly qualified person to take this role. As you know, the Government has confirmed that golf will be one of the first sports to return to full participation during the ongoing Covid Level 5 restrictions on Monday 26 April. From that date, all golf clubs can reopen for play within the limitations set by the Government. Coaching activities for underage players can also resume from that date.

following new government guidelines and GUI/ILGU recommendations, issued on March 24th 2020 all 27 holes at Connemara Golf Links along with all practice facilities including the driving range and putting green are closed. This decision will be reviewed on the 19th April 2020 in line with government guidelines. Stay safe, Club Committee. Due to Covid 19 all club competitions are postponed.
The Clubhouse and facilities are also closed, All above will be reviewed on 29th March. Club Committee Sunday 3rd March 2019 will be the Final of this years Pub League. The final four teams are Connemara Sands Hotel, Tom Kings Bar, Connemara Golf Club Bar and Veldons Seafood Bar. The format is a Fourball Betterball Stableford with 2 best score from each team to count. The teams will be teeing off from 11:32am to 12:12pm as there is also a Single Stableford Competition running for those not involved in the Final. Prize presentation will take place in the Club House bar at 5:30pm approx. We will also be presenting all the prizes for the Single competitions throughout the duration of the Pub League, so if you have featured please attend. We wish all the finalist the best of luck and hope the weather is kind!
